Overview

Hello everyone and welcome to the indepth Jungling guide. This guide is designed to give a more detailed feel of what jungling is and how to get good at benefiting from it in game.

Jungles

First thing to note about the jungles is their purpose and placement on the map. Between the 3 lanes there are the jungle areas which are filled with different kinds of monsters.

These monsters hold two main different functions for the game, to gain character levels and to get team boosts. Just by killing the monsters you gain experience for your hero and that furthers them towards a level up to boosting their skills.

As for the team boosts themselves that all depends on the monsters you kill. Some will just give you experience while others will give you a certain boost whether it be a health regen or an attack boost.

These boosts are extremely helpful and can be what determines the game depending on which team gets the boost. So in order to really profit from jungling you have to know what characters are good for it, what gear is good, and exactly what to be aiming for.

Jungle Gear

The first thing we'll go over is what gear is best for the jungle areas because there is some gear specifically made for it. All the gear can be set up into a build so you can make a full on Jungle character specifically designed for that purpose.

The first gear is Hunter's Crossbow and it can evolve into 3 different gear tree's that are each helpful with jungle purposes. Below will be all of the gear that Hunter's Crossbow can evolve into in separate tree's.

One thing to note however is to equip the Jungle equipment you must have Punish set as your talent. Punish unlocks access to the equipment and gives an active effect of dealing 800 true damage to nearby minions and monsters and stuns them for 1 second.

Jungle Characters

In Strike of Kings there are dozens of heroes to choose from and each have their own roles. In reality any hero could be used as a Jungle character but you want someone whose good at dealing out quick damage.

Your best choices are going to be going with an Assassin or a Warrior character. Preferably one that hits hard and is easy to get away with if things get to overwhelming.

Assassins are great for dealing out heavy damage and getting the Jungle boosts and experience fast but most are typically squishy and easily beaten. Where as Warriors can survive a little longer and deal good damage just not as much as the Assassins.

The two I'd recommend for Jungling are Butterfly and Nakroth. Butterfly because of her ability to do decent damage output plus her passive gives her a 12% HP heal when she kills an enemy so having her slay the weaker monsters is a quick in field heal.

Nakroth is another good choice because his role is Mobility and he's a well designed quick character. So he can take out monsters rather quickly and has a better chance of getting some distance between him and enemies if he needs a moment to recall or restore himself.

Jungle Monsters

As stated before there are several different kinds of monsters in the Jungle areas and each one is placed for their own purpose. The smaller ones with simple red health bars are to get experience for your hero.

So the turtle like monsters or the shaman looking guys. These are designed to boost up your level and get you stronger skills early in the match.

The monsters that have full on health bars that match enemy heroes are the ones that give you boosts. Each monsters is different with their own boost and some far more difficult to slay than others.

One in particular is the large orc looking creature which gives the Dark Slayers Wrath buff. This buff is a great one because it gives a 30% bonus to the whole teams attack damage and lets your hero regain 1% health and mana per second.

However, the monster that gives the Dark Slayers Wrath is also a rather powerful one. So it will take more than just one hero to take it down unless it's already late match and your hero is high level.

Another monster in the Jungles is the Abyssal Dragon and his purpose is very simple. By killing this dragon you gain gold and experience for the entire team so taking it down is a good game boost for every member of your team.

On your map you can tell which monsters are going to be stronger than others. The simple dots in the jungles are the basic monsters and there are typically around 3 or 4 more powerful ones.

The second difficult level of monsters are the icons that look like yellow V shaped heads. They're the second level of monsters that give buffs where as the first levels just give experience or gold.

Then we come into the 3 main monsters in the jungles. The first one is a yellow marker with a much bigger V shaped icon. The second is an orange colored icon that looks more like a shield.

As for the big jungle monster, in this case the Dark Slayer, is on the map as a large purple marker. So you can identify which monsters are which depending on their icons on the map.
